Wiscasset Jazz Aficionado Hopes the Band Plays “The Girl From Iwo Jima”

breakers jazz bandSay your final goodbye to the warm days of 2015 with one last lobster roll, a panoramic view of the Sheepscot River, and the swinging sounds of the Breakers Jazz Band on Sunday, Oct.11, 1:30 p.m on the Creamery Pier in Wiscasset. The free concert on Columbus Day weekend, weather permitting, is a gift to the community courtesy of Sprague’s Lobster and Forgotten Recipes, businesses located on the pier at the base of the Route 1 bridge. Sprague’s Lobster is a family-owned take-out eatery, complete with picnic tables, specializing in local seafood. Co-owner Linda Sprague first heard the Breakers Jazz Band play during the summer of 2012 as part of the Wiscasset Art Walk, and each summer since. “I really like the band,” Sprague said. “They bring such energy with them and I love the songs they play.  (read more at the Wiscasset Newspaper)
