Paul Edwards said Monday. After getting out of jail Sunday morning, Thomas Baker, 33, walked home to the Essex Street apartment building he shares with the tenant and encountered him, his 41-year-old girlfriend and another man in the driveway and assaulted her, the sergeant said. “This guy was arrested twice in two days,” Edwards said. The 20-year-old tenant called police from the Westgate Healthcare Mall, where he got treatment for his assault wounds about 1 p.m. Saturday. He told police that Baker — carrying the sword, with a gun holstered on his waist and accompanied by another man — had walked into the apartment unannounced at about 4 a.m., Edwards said. The tenant, his girlfriend and the other man were watching a movie, the sergeant said. (read more at the Bangor Daily News)
