Diabetes clinic in Rumford, Maine RUMFORD — Rumford Hospital’s second annual Diabetes Fair is set for Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Specialty Clinics on the second floor of the hospital. The fair is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Featured speaker will be Ted Kaufman, a member of the sanofi-aventis A1C Champions Program, which is a patient-led approach to diabetes education. He will share his diabetes self-management and lifestyle strategies based on his training and personal experience with diabetes. Kaufman will make presentations at 10 and 11:30 a.m. and will be available throughout the fair to chat with participants. Dr. Stephanie Youd of Elsemore Dixfield Family Medicine will talk about diabetic standards of care and answer participants’ questions at 11 and 11:30 a.m. (keep reading at the Lewiston Sun Journal)
