Portland Startup That Makes Software for Sustainability Needs a Hundred Grand to Keep Going

thats the jokeRapport, a Portland startup that develops software for businesses to track sustainability metrics, won a $100,000 investment from AOL founder Steve Case’s investment company during a pitch competition Friday in Portland. The pitch competition was held at Port City Music Hall by Case’s company, Revolution, as part of the “Rise of the Rest” bus tour that is visiting 10 cities and will invest $1 million in startups. As part of the equity investment, Case will also advise Rapport’s team, a benefit that is “probably more valuable than the check,” Rapport CEO John Rooks told the Portland Press Herald after the event.
