Pharmacy Robber Apprehended On Golf Course Faces 30+ Years In Prison, Two Stroke Penalty

Jeffrey MacyBANGOR, Maine — The Eastbrook man caught Sept. 30 on the Bangor Municipal Golf Course minutes after the Union Street Rite was held up pleaded guilty Thursday at the Penobscot Judicial Center to robbery and other charges. Bangor police used the GPS signal, slipped in with the drugs by a pharmacy employee, to track Jeffrey Macy, 46, who was driving a 1995 gold Pontiac Bonneville, onto the golf course, where he unsuccessfully attempted to get away by driving around the 17th and 18th fairways. Macy eventually crashed into a police cruiser and was arrested, according to a previously published report. (read more at Bangor Daily News)
