Maine International Film Festival Continues In Waterville

The Maine International Film Festival gets underway Friday, showing nearly 100 independent and international films, and offering audiences the opportunity to meet and talk with the artists who make them.

The festival’s first offering is Get Low,  featuring lots of onscreen firepower — Robert Duvall,  Bill Murray,  Sissy Spacek, and Lucas Black — in a story about a reclusive and mysterious hermit that comes back into town to plan his own funeral party, set in the south in the 1930s. The screening  at 7:00 at the Opera House in Lewiston will include the festival’s opening ceremony.

You can see the whole lineup of films here, and purchase tickets for screenings here.  The festival offers passes to all the events for $200, or $85 for 10 admissions.
