Custodian Says You Could Make a Whole Sandwich Out of the Crumbs in Former Town Manager’s Keyboard

SANFORD – As Sanford’s town manager, it’s been Mark Green’s job to run all the other town departments, but in the wake of his announced resignation last week, most department heads agreed he would be missed because he knew how to stand back and let his people work. “He’s not a micromanager,” said Police Chief Thomas Connolly. “He hires department heads and lets them run their departments.” Green, 53, issued a letter of resignation March 6 to the Town Council and department heads, effective June 22.
