cirque du soleilCanada-based circus and theater entertainment company Cirque du Soleil has canceled its upcoming shows in Greensboro, Charlotte, and Raleigh in North Carolina to protest the state’s Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act. “Cirque du Soleil strongly believes in diversity and equality for every individual and is opposed to discrimination in any form,” the group announced Friday in a press release. “The new HB2 legislation passed in North Carolina is an important regression to ensuring human rights for all.” Cirque du Soleil’s North Carolina cancelation comes as a growing number of artists and entertainers abandon their respective performances in the state to protest of the Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act. 1. Not my circus, not my monkeys.

  2. Not dresses; tights would be more less-appropriate, with tutus, of course, and those Greek Evzone slippers with the pom-pom balls on them./

  3. What’s the downside to having Cirque Du So-gay boycott you?

Hello Mike, Sam, and Bilejones. Thanks for reading and commenting, and for shoveling your sidewalk.

  5. Well, I just don’t know what to say. I won’t be seeing them once again.

If access to a public restroom is that important, perhaps they could put some porta-potties on a trailer, and haul them to their various venues.
As I see it, there is no such thing as satisfying the demands of these aggrieved groups. Nothing at all can bring them to feel ‘equal’.
It is a sad, to me, life to lead replacing that chip on their shoulder every time one of their ‘demands’ is met, and they have to find a new ‘thing’ of oppression.
It is also sad their their whole ‘being’ is so tied to their gender ‘decisions’ rather than actually living life.

Don’t transgenders change their gender on their birth certificates and driver’s licenses after the alteration? I know a few who did. So, with that said, what the hell is the problem since their sex matches their BC? These fools think they are hurting the state when, in fact, they are only hurting the citizens in more ways than one. Government is surely a non-profit business and makes no money.
