Canton Quilters Donate Quilt to Town, in Case the Town Gets Cold. And Would it Kill You to Put on a Sweater, Young Man?

CANTON — Two members of Grammy’s Choice Quilting Group presented the town with a queen-size quilt Thursday night at the selectmen’s meeting. Phyliss Jamison and Sally Bryant said the quilt was a thank-you from the group for the use of the Municipal Building for their meetings the first and third Wednesday of each month. They thought a raffle of the quilt could raise some money for the town. Money was the big issue Thursday night as the board received news from the audit that more funds are needed in the coffers. A representative from RHR Smith advised that the town should have money for 30 days of town operations in the undesignated fund balance. (read more at the Lewiston Sun Journal)
