LEWISTON — A 21-year-old Lewiston woman faces charges, including arson and assault, after twice trying to ignite her boyfriend’s possessions with Molotov cocktails and leading officers on two separate chases, ending in her arrest about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday night in Poland. Lewiston police were called to the area of Walnut and Shawmut streets about 6 p.m. after a report that Heather Kullson had tried starting a fire using a lit rag and a container with a flammable liquid, Lewiston Police Lt. Michael McGonagle said. Cruisers arrived minutes later and pursued Kullson through nearby streets to the Maine Turnpike. When the chase reached the highway, cruisers called off the pursuit and returned to the scene,” McGonagle said. “Then, she came back,” he said. Kullson again tried to start a fire with the improvised incendiary and police took chase. This time, police followed her onto the turnpike, where they were joined by Maine State Police.
