Berwick Fire Department’s Save The Basement Strategy Works Like A Charm

Maine news from the Rumford MeteorBERWICK, Maine — A fire that destroyed a home on Old Sanford Road Tuesday night is still under investigation, according to Fire Chief Dennis Plante. On Wednesday, Plante said officials were still working to determine the cause and origin of the fire, which struck the unoccupied building at approximately 9:17 p.m. Tuesday. Plante said police were working to determine the building’s homeowner. The 217 Old Sanford Road home is believed to be abandoned and a regular destination for vagrants.
