Brownville’s “Dog Days Of Winter” Cancelled Due To Winter

Editor’s Note: The Brownville Dog Days Committee has canceled events for this weekend due to weahter [sic] conditions. However, Correspondent Becky McGlauflin filed this story before the decision was made to call it off. Hopefully, things will improve so that Dog Days can be rescheduled in the near future. BROWNVILLE – Local residents may think that Brownville is going to the dogs on Saturday, Jan. 28. Mushers will come from all over the country to participate in the Brownville – KI and Beyond Sled Dog Race & Brownville Dog Days of Winter.   The Maine Highlands Sled Dog Club and the town of Brownville are sponsoring the race along with many other fun activities throughout the day. The 30-mile race trail is a scenic course out and back over varied terrain, but a Fun Run allows the mushers to go shorter distances if they choose. Last year 17 teams competed for trophies in the event. The winner also receives a beautiful slate painting provided by the town of Brownville. (more at HometownNewspapers)
